Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa says the military are not out to attack any community in Gbaramatu Kingdom and asked all to go about their normal businesses.
Governor Okowa spoke to newsmen in company of his Deputy, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro, shortly after an emergency security Council meeting at the Governor's Office Annex in Warri, on the recent vandalization of pipelines in the creeks and the consequent military siege on Gbaramatu Kingdom.
The security meeting was attended by security Chiefs from the Army, Navy, Police amongst others just as it was disclosed that the Minister of Defence, and Chief of Army Staff would be in the state for assessment of the situation.

Okowa said the military were simply gathering intelligence on the possible culprits of the vandalization, the extent of which, is yet to be ascertained.
The Governor said the attacks on the oil installations were unfortunate coming a day after the state government organized a seminar on securing oil installations on the Niger Delta.
Asked if he thought the ongoing situation in Gbaramatu Kingdom represented a re-emergence of militancy in the Niger Delta, Okowa disagreed, saying what is happening is the action of a few disgruntled elements.
